Join thousands of costumed runners at the fourth annual Boston Costume Dash 5k on Saturday, October 27, 2018!

Put on your craziest costume and get ready for five kilometers of fun starting at Copley Square and finishing in Boston Common!

The fun continues after the run with with a party in Boston Common featuring a costume contest and free sponsor schwag, followed by after-parties at Barracuda Tavern, Beantown Pub, and Sidebar!  Start your 2018 Halloween celebration in style.

Start Time: 9:00 a.m. in Copley Square

Packet Pick-Up & Race Day Registration: Saturday, October 27th from 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

Race Rules

  1. Everyone is strongly encouraged to wear a costume. Costumes must be worn during the race to be eligible to win a prize in the costume contest.
  2. Racers must be at least 10 years old.
  3. NO REFUNDS under any circumstances.
  4. All participants must sign a waiver of liability.
  5. Prices are subject to change without notice.
  6. If there is severe weather that prevents the event from being held at all on Saturday, it will be moved to an alternative date.
  7. No weapons are allowed as part of a costume.
  8. In addition to the top three overall male and female winners, awards will be presented to the top male and female finisher in the following age groups:

Costume Contest

Costume Contest

A costume contest will be held post-race, which includes special prizes and swag for the best costumes as selected by crowd applause, so be sure to go all out! To be eligible to win in the costume contest, you must wear your costume during the race.

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with IDD.

Currently, Best Buddies Massachusetts serves 6700+ participants, including 155 school friendship chapters, and 118 jobs participants. Our programs help individuals with IDD form meaningful friendships, secure successful jobs, live independently, and improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills. By choosing to support Best Buddies, you are helping to not only enhance the lives of people with IDD, but are empowering our participants to strive toward their full potential.
